Mooching around eBay (as I seem to do more and more these days...) and I spotted this old Moulton. Any idea what the bracket thing circled in the photo is please? Is it some sort of bodge? Cheers.

Certainly looks like it's some sort of stiffener that is holding it all together

I'm with Biggs. That's most likely a frame brace of some sort, less likely a mounting system for a forward rack or somesuch.

I found an internet thread about it earlier and it was available through Raleigh at the time .
But can't find said thread now to post a link .
I had a Moulton of some description in my early teans as my paper round come riding across building site bike but have no recollection of where it came from

F-frame Moultons are funny things. They have their enthusiasts (I have two), they are expensive and difficult to restore, and they are almost worthless, unless you have something rare like a Safari or SpeedSix.

The 14" ones need rewheeling as the original tyre size is now almost impossible to find.
