Hi All
So I am doing a bit of long-overdue garage clearance and I dug out my old racing bike which I bought from Birkenhead Cycle Exchange in the early 80's I recall. It's an Ian May of indeterminate vintage with some nice period kit on it. So it would be good if anyone on the forum could throw some light on it.
Mine doesn't have IMC stamped underneath like some frames seem to have on the bottom bracket, just 1534 and a letter K stamped on the top of the rear forks.
It has Campagnolo headsets, chainwheel and pedals which I know were very expensive at the time, so someone must have deemed the frame worthy of investment. I think it's about a 23" frame on white metallic with lugs hand painted with black key lines. And it came with ultra-light sprint wheels and tubs.
Is this a genuine Ian May or does it sound like one of the frames he brought in, built up and applied Ian May decals to? Happy to receive any info. I will add some pics when I give it the clean it deserves!

And be careful with the clean!
