Rang round 5 bike shops, up to now, and none have what I want or are way over budget..!

Very sad

This has in my experience been the bane of my life (30 yrs) as far as cycling is concerned...

No wonder people drive cars

You think this problem doesn't exist in the motoring world? Experience in the trade brings a sinking feeling to my stomach whenever I hear the phrase "factory back order" .

Having worked in the 'motoring world' - items ARE available - same day too !

What is it you're looking for?

An ant+ cadence sensor for a Edge 705 - I bought a sensor but that only works with a 500/510/800/810 & 1000 models inc. others, this didn't please me.

I located 1 online but the case still stands. A friend said recently that he buys in advance tho how much can you buy' ie a spare bike, wheels, tho you could grab cassettes chains etc...

I tried 8 shops in my area within riding distance (upto 10 mls) and none had a unit to sell, that's pretty bad imo!

Internet selling ain't the best medium.

It's a part for an old model, not made any more. Not surprised shops with limited space don't have on the shelves. Did they offer to source one for you?

I can't believe that people are surprised that they cannot just walk into a bike shop and pick up what they want on speck. Unless it is something expendable like a tube.

It is rare that something goes wrong with a bike and we go immediately to the LBS or that we need that part immediately. If you are like me you leave it and forget it for days, or even weeks before getting round to doing something about it.

Bike shops can usually get anything you want within a couple of days, a week at the most.

There is no point in slagging bike shops when its your own fault. It's sounds like a bit of forward planning was needed here.
