Went to the infamous shop that sells bikes to try a Boardman for size....

I said " have you a small?"

They guy promptly wheeled out a bike and i tried it for size , now i have looked at the geometry of the bikes and the seat tube is only 1.5 cm longer and the top tube is the same , i have 12 cm of seat post showing on mine but this one had maybe 5 cm of seat tube showing and the reach felt a bit long.
He tried to fit me by the old stand over the bike and sit on saddle with feet on the floor ....

I can only conclude he tried to stick me on a medium .....

I went in there to fit for a Road Bike a few months back. Told him straight and said Medium, or maybe Small. He took a look at me and said "You'll need a large". He took the large boardman from the shelf and gave it to me, as soon as I was standing next to it, he said "Ok, maybe a medium"

I tried both the medium and small, and settled on the medium.
