...it was one of those OMG moments...riding along up near the woods here I know there is a small but annoying hill approaching around the bend...as i turn the bend I drop a gear or two and I'm cruising up this thing on my Bianchi...I pass this REALLY struggling overweight bloke totally over dressed on a large heavy bike...he's spinning the pedals so fast but going nowhere....yep..it was me riding that same hill two years ago...like a ghost or something....I just cruised past effortlessly and toasted him..it's wrong I know...but I've earned the right to enjoy it!:biggrin:

You complete and utter bastard. You've now probably destroyed his will to live and I bet he broke up his bike in disgust when he got home.

...yeah...I feel evil...twisted and perversly pleased:biggrin:;)

..seriously though this guy looked just like I did back then...major weight issue, clearly struggling with cycle fashion management and feeling like a complete prick no doubt...I wish him well...I bet in two years time he will toast me back on the same hill, I hope for his sake he does...

It actually was you!!

Because you were going so fast on your Bianchi, what you saw was a temporal echo of your former self.

Be careful not to interact with these echos as you could damage the space/time continuum.

Did it not occur to you to wait for him at the top and then have an encouraging, morale boosting chat with him while he was desperately gasping some air back into his lungs?

...it's usually me who gets toasted..even now...by these skinny arsed roadie types..it was just good to be doing the toasting for once..tomorrow I will go out and no doubt get toasted by some old granny with a basket full of shopping.

You complete and utter bastard. You've destroyed my will to live:sad:;) I was that over-weight over-dressed cyclist:biggrin:

Was coming back from watching QE2 sail last night and as I turned the corner into Frost lane a couple had stopped just prior to the level crossing at the bottom the hill and I heard the man say to his wife "we'd better let this one go by as he's going faster than us" as I went past. Now I was in the big ring near the top of the cassette and doing between 10 and 12 MPH, which eight months ago I would have had to have got off and pushed so I know what you mean BTFB:bicycle:.
