Am upgrading my Roubaix bit by bit...
So now onto the Bottom Bracket.
Fancy either a

or a Chris King

Decisions, Decisions.....what you think?

I looked into getting ceramic bearings for my Campag UT system and the best any site could come up with was 4% less friction using them and no evidence whatsoever to back up the claim.

So you may be looking at paying a lot just to lose a few grams-upgrade elsewhere would be my choice.

I am upgrading all the bike as I go along Pete, just that it's BB time.
The Hope ceramic bearing BB is actually cheaper then the Chris King.

Hope for me, I've been eyeing up their hubs and various other bits and bobs. I fancy a red/black/silver colour scheme for a bike:-

Red - stem, headset, bar ends, hubs, seat clamp, pedals, BB, spoke nipples and part of tyres.
Black - most of frame, chainset, seatpost, spacers, bars, controls, cabling, saddle partially, spokes, rims, and most of frame
Silver - chain, part of frame, part of saddle and the other odd bits here and there.

Tiz a sexy thing a colour co-ordinated bike and, heaven knows, you need all the help you can get Ian:evil:

Not to sure?
I fitted a Hope SS one to my Ribble winter bike Christmas week, and one to my CR1 Pro last summer, they are so much smoother than the Ultegra ones.

You can tell that just by spinning the cranks before refitting the chain. In the real world though I'd doubt if you would actually feel the difference on the road.

But like the advert says......every little helps.

you know, I knew I forgot something, yep my top tube bag is black and silver as well:biggrin: Knowing me I will complete this project and then proceed to ride the bike in clothing that clashes horribly:blush:
