Looks a nice run out and I hope the weather was kinder than that which I had the other week

Probably just me not being used to the forum yet, but I'm struggling to find your photos.

Hi G-Zero

I noticed that you were blessed with a misty day on your ride up there - pity. I also noticed the standing stone in your photo.

Click on the word "Gallery" at the top of this page, it's in the blue bar. Then click on "Rides & Events" and the pix are under the heading Botton Head - North York Moors.

The track down Rudland Rigg to Gillamoor is known locally as "the roof of the world descent". I wonder how many other "roof of the world descents" there are?

Good luck with the pix.

Bet Wancashire doesn't have any, might have a "pits of the world descent" though

........ Good luck with the pix.

Found them cheers - I was looking in 'Photo Gallery' and 'CC Rides & Events' in the main section

Nice pics, but I couldn't figure out what all the blue stuff was at the top of most of them

They were the views I was hoping for, but with it just being 90 minutes down the road, we're already planning another visit for later in the year, fingers crossed for then.

Done anything round the Yorkshire Wolds ?

Hi Rikki1962

Funny you should ask that.

I'm in the process of booking accommodation around the Driffield area, hopefully in a couple of weeks time, as I intend to do the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route. I plan to cycle from home and pick up the clockwise route from Kirkham Abbey near Malton. I'll post it if I can get it sorted.

Yes, I've been around the Wolds area by bike (and on foot). I completed the Way of the Roses in March/April this year, did the White Rose Route return, ie Home - Humber Bridge - Home - Middlesbrough - Home, a few years go, cycled Scarborough to Beverley - it's a good area to cycle in. Next Tuesday I plan to "circumnavigate" the Humber ie Home - York - Goole - Scunthorpe - Humber Bridge - Market Weighton - Home.
