Fits:

Tries all bottles (note background). Nothing works. Thinks "You div, you've bought something intended for some sort of weird retro bike bottle."

Funny you should mention that. I was just about to reach for the pliers and bend the cage over before it dawned on me just what a total div I am.

I would say that if it can fit both ways, people will tend to fit it the wrong way.

In my defence (and Lord knows, I could do with a decent QC on the case), that's actually my son's bottle, I only tried it because none of mine fitted...
