I am a cycling god

Normally I am the old fat guy that you your partner and your 6 year old daughter on a trike overtake as you go on your sunday ride round the park. But today the worm has turned. Today I won my first race in god knows how many years. admittedly The guy was only slightly younger than me and was riding a hybrid with front suspension and had a rucksack but as I bimbled past him on my new road bike (have I told anyone about that yet?) I heard him rattle through the gears and come up on my inside ( steady fnaar) Lightly I stepped on the pedals and left him for dead TDF here I come. I can't believe cycling is this much fun.

Early this year I had the opposite experience when doing the 5 dales sportive. I am sure that I was overtaken by literally every other rider. Except going down the hills. And then, due to weather - a rather strong wind - I wimped out and took the 4 dale route. Oh well, there's always next year..

cycling i tried it i did it with others now i sneake out and do it on my own, i even plan ahead and organise my life so i can fit a ride in !
