Morning all.Sometime since I last posted when I was talking about are Cocker Spanie puppie Alfie Sadly he is no longer with us He is now with my daughters four dogs
He became to much for us to handle He was are third Cocker but he despite a lot of training input didn’t respond. He would respond to commands if ther was a treat sit stay down etc but give the commands without the treats he would throw a deaf un

Happily he is enjoying life with his four mates who are older than him The Australian Shpherd is his particular pal If he steps out of line the Alsatian gives him a tap with his paw.
The previous two Cockers were a delight to train for obedience .

Good to see Alfie enjoying life with his canine mates.

Good to hear you are back

and that Alfie is happy
Dogs are not like humans - sounds like Alfie was just not mentally able to relate humans as pack leader
but with some bigger dogs he has found a pack where he knows what his place is

Some dogs are just not the same as other
when I had mine (I only got her when she was 2) she was fine most of the time
but once she saw something small and furry and ran away - then all training, and common sense, went out of teh window

Nothing I could do about it

she did know that there was something funny about sheep - but she seldom saw them (for obvious reasons) and when we did she immediately set off to chase them - for about a millisecond - then stopped even before I grabbed her and looked at me confused
then tried to go off again

poor dog - she was easily confused!
I lost her on the first day my daughter started nursery - that was a hell of a day!!

ANyway - welcome back

Starting to look at rescue Cockers two years old plus.

There are a few older ones about that could do with a good home.
