Ok went on my first ride, did 40km's around some forest near Mile End. It was tough!

The legs were ok, the arse is what hurt like hell!

What's worse, is the arse pain is gone but the 'man jewels' are hurting like hell!

Obviously this ain't right. Is it?

I was with an experienced rider, so pretty sure my seat was adjusted correctly ..... want to go for a ride tonight, but can't handle the thought of hurting the already tender eggs further...:-(

That area may take some time to get used to the punishment you are dishing out.

Small distances often will help break your parts in before they break. ;)

Your body will toughen up with gentle persistence, but don't over do it; your body will tell you when in needs to recover, you just have to listen and take it easy.

1st time i did 20 miles mostly uphill i felt a bit sore. no issues sitting on chairs and sofa but was warming up the next day on a gym bike (big cushioned seats) and not much pain. 3 days later i went out on the bike and i felt like i was being raped, the seat had carved a grove in my fat arse and caused considerable pain. i had to stand and ride which was good for the thighs but had to take a week off after than 2mile of pain. Now im fine, did 25 miles yesterday and started feeling some pain in the last 5 miles, leaned back a little to take off the pressure and not bad.

i think (being a newbie so maybe not right) you need to get off the saddle as much as possible to keep the blood flowing, too much sitting will cause more pain in the long run.

also are you walking like John Wayne yet

This may sound daft .......... but I played with the thought ............of inserting a baby's nappy in one's pants to protect delicate parts. Would it work as it is only an idea at the moment and also worried that my wife may think i am a weirdo if i start buying nappies.
Anyone tried it yet? After all , those padded cycling pants look like big nappies inside them, don't they?

I have to wear them for real  and not for comfort and on long rides they break up it is not good  just get some good padded shorts

Who was the French pro who used to ride with a steak inside his shorts? He swore it tenderised the steak and would cook it later.
