Huddersfield canal paths to get multi-million-pound makeover - and you can have your say
Great news! I was on the Huddersfield Narrow towpath recently and its in a terrible state, and its needed even more so ATM as the nearby Calder Valley Greenway is frequently closed due to the Transpennine Rail Upgrade and the towpath is a way to get accross the railway without using the roads. There is a survey in there, along with plans but the 3 key things for me are they are going to be repacing A-Frames with bollards, widening the path and re-surfacing it with a type of stone chipping that is much nicer looking than the tarmac they used to use.
