The whole thing is a bloody nightmare when it comes not only to cross talk but getting the right set-up for everything you need all of the time. It's a pain...
I had issues with a Magicshine and a Cateye which admittedly was resolved but more recently have had other conundrums. I was looking for a computer, wireless preferably with cadence (average, max and current) that could also pick up speed/distance from the rear wheel. Nope, only the Cateye Strada Double Wireless which is expensive and only does current cadence so I opted for a VDO that I was told did rear wheel and cadence...nope, front wheel only but I liked it, so kept it but it meant on the turbo I had no speed/distance and the computer, only sensing cadence, and nothing else kept going to sleep attributing averages to my last real ride! So that wouldn't do.
Fast forward to a new (old) bike for the turbo alone and I figure that I can bodge the original Cateye for speed/distance by placing it permanently on the rear stay and having the monitor on the frame so as to be within the right distance for the sensor...okay for the turbo but impractical for a real road ride. But, of course, now I have no cadence! I could try a Garmin I thought..?
Think I might have to go wireless on the turbo set-up and Tesco do a 17-function for a reasonable price but the whole issue really is having a permanent set up that doesn't need changing around and sometimes it's remarkably frustrating and I feel your pain!
That's better...
