Went to the NEC today (drove as it's a long way from Bristol). Car park a long way from halls but free bus provided. Salivated over Colnago Ferrari road bike - £13,000 to you sir! Lots of carbon fibre and bright colours on all the stands. The "shop" area could have been bigger but all in all a good cross section of what's on the market - BMX, Road, Race and MTB all catered for as well as equipment and (expensive) clothing - see topic on Aldi for comparison.

Was going to look for my new bike.....but got sidelined into Biciceilo yesterday and got a Pinarello Quattro on discount. May still go, but I'm itching to get out on the new bike, as I picked it up at 4pm today. Looking after my boys tomorrow morning, so I'm going to have to restrain myself until after lunch. I have a morning pass on Sunday, so may well go along then.

Ditto to User. I was surprised that some of the big bike brands weren't there, or the big accessories brands too. Still, if it's a growing concern, perhaps this will improve year on year...

I LOVED the 'create bikes' stand... nearly spent £300 on a brightly coloured single speed.......
And there were some lovely retro looking bikes there too.

Went on Saturday, good show but dissapointed there was not more stuff for sale. There was a retail area but it was limited.

Went Saturday, first time for a Cycle show, enjoyed it. Fallen in love with the Ribble Stealth and a Dolan!
Look bikes are very nice too, pity everything is expensive though!

First time at a cycle show went Saturday, as others have said not too bad overall, lots of electric bikes on show if that's your thing. Managed to have a whip round on the outside track on a Pearson fixie.

well, it was like dieing and going to Pinarello heaven. in fact, just when i convinced myself that (a) i couldn't afford a Pinarello dogma and (b), i couldn't justify the very pretty pink and black Catena, i discovered the Catena is a single speed.

Well.. I NEED A SINGLE SPEED. I haven't got one!

did anyone see that little pull along bike caravan. i've got a photo of it, i'll upload it later.

do you think my work with sponsor me to do the www.worldcyclechallenge.com? i mean, ok, it's £29k and 9 months of work... but that's less time and money than maternity leave!! and i ain't got kids so they owe me!

I went on Friday and enjoyed it. Again , a shame some of the bigger brands werent there, but alot of the smaller stands are much more friendly anyway. The retail area was much bigger and better than previous London shows, but could still be expanded . I Loved the Pinarello Catena too and the new Ribble steel bike looked superb for the money. And I even got a few freebies!

5 of us went Saturday.

General opinion is it was limited, and generally high end road stuff only - not balanced on price ranges, quite a bit of novelty bikes - ie. electric, and hardly any mountain bike stuff at all. Limited on components, like frames or Shimano - good big SRAM (and it's associated brands) stand though.

The retail area was only clothes, couldn't buy a light, or a chain if I wanted to!

The highlight for us, and what redeemed the show was the end of show BMX exhibition. Never seen this type of stuff in real life. youtube'd a few of the big names when I returned home, and they were totally top class people. It was awsome.

Overall, not worth the effort.

That's what I call sidelined...in a good way!! Would love to know how the Pinarello rides.
