How to true a wheel?

Purveyor of fine nonsense
A few weeks back I came off when my front wheel went into a rather large hole in the road.

I was scraped to buggery, but the bike was largely ok.

The only damage seems to be that the front wheel is ever so slightly out of true - not enough to make the rim scuff against the pads, but certainly enough for me to notice it when I spin the wheel and look carefully at the profile of the rim.

So, how can I get it back to perfectly true again? I have a spoke tool, just not sure how to use it!

Not difficult, but patience and attention to detail is VERY important! ;)

This'll take you through the motions!

Take your time. Be methodical. Make small changes.

I think the Wheel Pro book is the best combination of authoritative information and easy to follow instructions. Sadly it isn't free, but I think it is worth the money.
