Squirt some water or lube under the grip and twist. I've used a hypodermic needle before to get right under the grip but if you haven't got one you can just squirt wd40 or gt85.

Hairspray or washing up liquid also works. Hairspray is great for fitting tight grips too because it drys and sticks the grips a bit.

As above - WD40 to get the old grips off, clean the bars, squirt a bit of hairspray in the new grips and slide them on. I've had to do loads of scooter grips for my kids like this.

I always used Brake & Clutch cleaner aerosol spray. Get a screwdriver under the grip and squirt som in a wriggle it around, pops right off.

Reverse to fit new grips. Brake cleaner is great because it completely evaporates leaving tight fitting grips and no residue.

You also get zero slippage problems when they get wet as well

PS: it's fantastic for cleaning chains too

It's also great when you get oil on your shoes and then walk onto your cream coloured carpet in your living room!
