how to repair scraped brake levers

As i have mentioned in another post , I was flung of my bike after hitting a dog.
Over the weekend I had a look at my bike to assess for any damage, all I can see is some scratches and scuffs to plastic on the Shimano Sora STI levers . Is this repairable or do I leave it and put up with
it ?

battle scars ................unless you are a perfectionist .then replace

Even if you sand them off, you'll never get the shiny back.
An obvious excuse to upgrade to 105, surely?
Only had the bike for a month, dont think the good lady would sanction the cost of an upgrade just yet !
May try a light sanding and live with it .
Thanks fro the replies

do people really have to get permission off their other halves to spend money?

Ive never had to and my wife never has to ask me, so is it a real occurrence or just a forum comment?

Very good question.
Now I think about it ,if I wanted to upgrade /spend on my bike it would be no problem to be honest .
I think it is my own guilt complex that stops me.
So in future I will not use her as an excuse .
So to rephrase ,I personaly cannot jusify spending money on scratched shifters when the bike is only four weeks old.
I feel better now ,more empowered for that !!

You could try something like T-Cut on the metal parts to polish them up a bit and take away some of the roughness of the scuffs - other than that, treat it as part of wearing the bike in and giving it the distinctive marks that make it 'your' bike.
