Hi,

I seem to be in a little prediciment with my new SPD pedals. On a ride last night the cleat became stuck in one of the pedals and now I cant remove it. The shoe came off but the cleat is still in the pedal.

Is there a way for me to remove the cleat?

The pedals are shimano m520's.

Many Thanks

Get a 2 large screwdrivers, wedge down between the each side of the cleat interfaces and the axle, pull apart as hard as you can and the cleat should hopefully come out.

Replicate the twisting unclipping action.

Use mole grips or pliers. Or if have access to and can get a grip, use a vice.

This front to back of the cleat. It's the same as removing the plastic platforms that come with some spds.
