How to recable sram double tap levers?

I bought some replacement double tap levers second hand from YACF and they seem to work fine but they came with no cables, i only need to change the right hand shifter but i am a bit stumped as to where to start.
The guide says unweight the cable, this i assume means you want it set with no tension , what would be the smallest cog at the back ?

If anyone knows of some step by step guides it would be great or should i bite the bullet and take it to the LBS ?

EDIT LBS want £15 for the job and i have another 2 bikes and kids ....

Cheers guys , with time being short and the nice bike in storage for the winter i am going to take it to the LBS and save me the hassle atm ,I do not get chance for a club run let alone time to play about.
