I have a Boardman Race Comp 2009, black with the standard drop bars

Im wondering how easy it is to replace the drop bars with flats, so its more of a hybrid?

What would I need?

Thanks in advance

I can't answer but I can describe the problem in more detail.
Your main problem would be that the integrated brake/shifter levers are drop bar specific.

So you'd need: some new flat bars, a new stem, some new brake levers and - here's where it gets interesting - some new shifters.
The shifters will have to pull the right amount with each click to be compatible with your gear mechanisms.

I can't advise on this - it's all to do with the "cable pull". Some are compatible, some aren't. From a quick look on the web the bike is kitted out with Tiagra 10 speed.

I went the other way round, putting drops on a hybrid. Complete new drive train (brake/shifters, chainset, cassette, derailleurs and chain) bars, tape and new inner/outer cables. It was a lot of work and cost me around £200 - i was lucky though and bought a lot of the gear in one hit from the classifieds on here....

Depending on what speed you will be looking at, I have a set of flat bar suitable brake/gear shifters (trigger style) going.... also an 8 speed triple derailleur (front) and rear derailleur too....

You're right.

Ive seen a great Boardman Hybrid on the eBay, so i think that would be easier. Buy it, sell the road

What can I expect, ride wise, with a hybrid?
