How much to build a race circuit?

Have you got a big enough garden?

I tried to persuade the local club as we had land that could used and a contractor who would have done it for free. However there were planning restictions which stopped it going ahead.

How's aboot approaching a nearby motor racing circuit (Thruxton? I dunno) and asking for hire prices?

I know the manchester wheelers had a do at Oulton Park last year, sounded like a blast.

We could do with more all over the country. I would imagine that some funding could come from the Lottery and Sport England, although they would have a requirement to make it available to the local community...probably means build a BMX track as well for local kids to use. If it got them on bikes and incited a bit of healthy competition it wouldn't be that bad.

OK, they don't make enough money to pay for their upkeep which means you need to make a surplus above and beyond the direct running costs

No. that's why they are all subsidized by local authorities or Sport England
