In equipment terms not much I hope - other than the odd repair etc.
In terms of the cost of cycle tours, I've spent a lot on that this year because I must have been away 6 or 7 times - mostly for weekends but a couple of longer stints too. Nothing organized, just DIY tours with B&Bs/youth hostels and train travel. Perhaps as much as 1.5 grand...? Training is free cos I just go from my front door, unless you include gym membership which is £35 per month...

But it's pretty much all I spend my money on other than house, food, beer and commuting.

My last club did this to provide some leverage in local cycle shops for sponsorship and discounts. We were all horrifed at how much we were spending. So, I am a little bit nervous to do the process again.

Bugger all really, considering. I buy everything but everything off ebay, and only with plenty of research and patience. Recent purchases include 4 'almost new' (they were - probably c.100 miles between them) 700x23 tyres - 2x conti gators, 2x conti gp4000s - for £10.29 incl p&p, and 5 sets of (brand new) aztec brake blocks, £9.98 incl p&p. That plus maybe a tenner for tubes probably about covers me for consumables for a year - so, £30 all in?

I do also occasionally spend a hundred pounds or so on a bike...but that hardly counts since I could sell 'em tomorrow at a profit. More like saving than spending really. That's what I tell 'er indores anyway...

And I save north of a grand a year in train & bus fares. So overall my cycling probably costs me about minus a thousand pounds a year. Bit of a bargain really.

Other than the cost of the bike ,lights and a few tools,nothing for the last few years,i think the total cost of my bike and things is less than 300 from about six years ago?

Probably too much. But it's my only vice after Japanese schoolgirls, so I think I'm worth it.

As I cycle to work I can deduct the cost of an annual LT season ticket for Zones 1-4, plus numerous black cabs for when that goes tits up. I'd say around a couple of grand there at least. I don't need to pay £50 a month to go and sit on a stationary bike either so that's another £600 on top.

My total purchases are few really, brake blocks, a pair of new bib shorts and a jersey, new handlebars. Total, around £200.

That makes me £2,400 a year better off because of cycling alone.
