As long as I breathe, I attack.
Square taper on the subway has play in it, i tried to get it out but its stuck in their and i nearly knocked my teeth out on the top tube trying to undo it as the tool slipped so i am going to let the LBS sort it as i dont want the hassle.

Im hoping 3 weeks or best to bite the bullet and get it sorted, it also needs new chain, cassette and chain ring tbh as the winter has killed it.

Depends on how much 'play' you have - it won't get better only worse - when it starts chucking chain off thats not good

Probably last for ages, just keep an eye on it. Play usually means seals don't.

Edited to add, whatever you read on the internet, you will find the exact opposite in seconds. Make sure your mobile is charged ;-))

If it's a little bit loose, and the bolt is loosened, you'll find riding it is the absolute best way to loosen it. You should immediately notice when it's loose! Simply carry the replacement parts and tools with you over the next few days.

Sounds like a teasing response, but I threaded my crank and used this exact technique when I wanted to change crank/pedals that had fully anodised into the crank.
