How much for a 531 frame?

Got my eye on one at the moment, the rest of the bike is probably no good, how much should I pay for it?

Who built it? How old is it? What are the lugs like? Does it look as though it's well made. How long is a piece of string? (if you get my meaning).

Well I bought it anyway, It's pretty rusty but I think I fell in love with it a bit. Made by Rotrax, I think 60s, some of the most luuurvly lugs I ever done seen.

Oh, and a piece of string is twice its length (but you should realy invest in a ruler you crazy cat)

Check it isn't rusty inside. DB 531 ain't very thick.

Rotrax have a good pedigree. It'll make a nice restoration piece. I know a man who rode an unrestored 50s fixed Rotrax on Paris-Brest-Paris. It would make a good fixed bike.

I'm thinking it's probably going to be rusty inside (most bikes of this age that haven't been protected are gonna be arent they?) But hopefully it'll just be surface rust.

Ah right, aye I hope so, yea I've been chopping and changing for a while but I decided I'm gonna make it fixed. Powder coat a nice light blue/green. Whack some over-priced leather parts on that bad boy. Sexy.
