How much could I get for a Brian Rourke custom build? Its 10+ years old but in great working condition, a few marks, no rust etc been well looked after. Mainly campagnola parts and a reynolds 653 frame (at least i think - need to go in the garage and double check)... it was £2k when built many moons ago - i know that doesnt mean much now though

Going to put it up on ebay, ideally £150 maybe a tad more would be great for the whole bike - not taking it apart!

Thanks for advice!

Whatever someone will pay.

Not trying to be clever, but not a big market for bikes of this vintage.

Someone who has a connect with that era or particular type of bike may be willing to pay more than you think.
Try local Cycling clubs.

It's not really a bike from an "era" it's a steel handbuild, you can still walk into Rourke, Mercian or Longstaff and drop several grand on a new one, yours is only ten years old or so (bit more is my guess). Even with the quill stem it will still take most new kit.

The market for them is large enough but people who want one tend to want one from new that they have been measured up for.

Second hand I would be surprised if it topped the £350 mark in the back of a cycling rag, I wouldn't sell it in all honesty as once something like that is gone you will never replace it without parting with serious money. I can't see how it's any less usable for most riding than your tourer as well, if you gave it a chance you would get to like it.

My other concern would be some knobber butchering it for a fixed conversion, grinding the gear lever bosses off and applying a rattley can paint job.

God no.

The frame is lovely (chroming like that don't come cheap these days) and you'd possibly get £200 for that alone. I'll be interested to see what it goes for. I reckon someone will nick it for £300, split it and get £400 for individual parts. Personally, I'd hang on to it unless the bailiffs are at your door.
