I'm sure this has been asked already...and if it has, sorry for not looking it up!

I do on average 4x25 and 3x12 miles per week (sometimes more 25's, depending on shifts) and more in the summer. I don't ride for speed now and I rarely take any notice of the time, I just ride at a comfortable average of 15mph. I don't really like taking days off though! How many days should I take off with that sort of mileage...and do I even need to?

None, you don't need to unless your body is telling you to.

take what you feel is necessary. Both on tour (we would stop every 6-11 days as needed) and now, I do try to have at least one rest day a week though. It usually is a Saturday, when we do the shopping, vist my mother, do her gardening, her chores, come home, walk our neighbours dog at least once often twice... so not really a "rest" day, but a day off cycling.

But everyone is different, my body tells me I need to take time off and if I don't take at least 1 day off a week, I end up off the bike for weeks on end. BUT, I have a number of medical conditions which have to be 'managed' to ensure I can cycle 6 days out of 7... It is really down to what you can manage and what does not wear you down in the long run.
