How many links?

I've just ordered a 105 12-25 cassette and a 6701 ultegra chain. I'm running a 10 speed compact .

This is the first time I've changed the parts myself so I'm just checking a few things. The chain has 116 links, is this the correct amount or do I have to remove a few links?

Any help appreciated.

You'll need to remove a few links.

Either lay new chain next to old chain if old one was shifting fine otherwise check this link:-

FYI, send the Ultegra chain back and buy a KMC X chain or a Sram chain. Shimano chains generally have a pretty poor reputation

Thanks for replys. I have read since that the chain is probably not the best, will give this one a go and see how it performs. Cheers uclown, checking that link now.
