How long should an Acera rear Mech last

As in the post, I have covered 11,500 miles in the last 18 months, most on the Acera, checking the bike to night as a regular clunk type noise started today ( a little like if the cassette hasn't been tightened properly), there also seems to be excessive movement on one of the rivets holding the parallelogram (is that right)part of the body together.
If I have to replace it which in honesty I think I have to would an Alivio M410 be a suitable replacement as our local Halfords have one in stock for £20, early xmas present.

Alivio M410 is the next spec up and is stated to be 7/8 speed compatible so yes it would be a suitable replacement for Acera. RRP is £30 so grab a £20 one while you can.

I don't think I'll complain if I get 11,500 miles out of my Acera.

Thanks Phil, I actually got a M430 for £19.99, it works well enough on the 8sp (just clarify this is on a road bike, I like options of low gearing if I want)

Even better. I might have a look and see if there are any offers at the local store. Would be good to have something in stock "just in case".;)
This always happens at my local store, I order something for pick up and they dont have it, like the gatorskins for the same price as the Ultra Sport at discount prace was about 13.50, and whats more they gave me another for the same price, again I think I got this because they didn't have any 410's in, though it said so on the web page, having said that they are only £24.99 at Halford's at the moment (M430)
