how i solved my piriformis pain

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I have tried all the stretches etc etc for piriformis ache in the upper buttock / back that has given me sciatica like symptoms for months and months and i have finally found something that helps..

Leg lifts combined with the stretches.

I found an article that said the muscle was weak as it is not used much so i needed to strengthen it

I used to teach aerobics many years ago and i know how many we used to do in class as the women like to target the area so i was dismayed when i managed to do 20 .

Cheers matey...Been getting twinges again recently - Think it riding 3 different styles of bike, my poor back doesn't where it should be

Yes I use those sort of glute/piriforms strengthening exercises.

DO you do a straight lift up with flexed foot or a 'foot rotated out, lift up and slightly back' version (also targets gluteous medius so good for ITB-afflicted folks)?
