Hi all,

Just wondering, for someone with (I'd say) slightly higher than average bike maintenance skills, can change a wheel, change block brakes etc... How easy would it be to switch to a quick release wheel on the front (and maybe rear) on a bike with disk brakes?

Anybody able to link to the parts I need please?

I've been quoted £22.50 for the front (including parts), might go with that if it is reasonable but if I can do it myself for around £10 then I'll probably do that.

The guy mentioned it is a bit more complex as you might need to adjust the disk brakes afterwards?

Thanks!

I've ever actually done that switch myself, but surely it involves no more than getting the correct length hollow spindle and a QR skewer? I don't see how it could effect the disc brakes as the position of the hub in the drop outs won't alter.

Not sure that's just what he said. Think I'd need some tools also though that I may not have, so maybe the £22 isn't so bad
