Does anyone get a 'morning' or 'how do' from fellow cyclists? or do you say hi to people as they pass in the other direction?

Noticed it alot recently

I always give a minimum of a nod of the head, sometimes a "Hi" if the traffic is not too heavy to be heard.

Everyone around where I live just seems to give a nod, probably too out of breath to speak since round every corner seems to be a hill!

I always try to say hello or raise a hand to other cyclists. I find it far more noticeable on the MTB trails then on the road. Also I shout good morning /afternoon, et al if I am approaching a person / people heading ion the same direction as me.

Too many cyclists on my commute for anyone to bother.
However out in the country some say hi some don't. Same as me. A case of I will if I can be arsed. No great shakes.

Depends on the situation Lulu...
If i'm commuting in town, to other 'general' cyclists....no.
If i'm commuting but i see another roadbike...i'll nod. (whether they see a nod's another matter)
If i'm in the countryside on a 'proper' ride, i'll say hello, nod or raise my hand to almost anyone on a bike. Nice to get the occasional opportunity to chat to a recreational rider too.

You'll get various reactions, from a cheery hello to a nod to a blank look.

When I'm commuting I'd say the vast majority of cyclist don't respond to a hi but in the same city outside commuting hours most folk do respond however.
Also I don't know if this is a counter to the roadie/flat bar thing but I find that some flat bar riders won't respond to me when I'm on the drops but nearly everybody does when I'm on the hybrid.
Furthermore the more rural I get I don't often have to prompt and its more a case of me responding ;-)

Out of town I usually get a wave from cyclists, also dog-walkers sometimes runners too. By the end of a ride I'm often too knackered to respond though..
