Don't leave! Seriously major apologies if we've caused any offence, I think you need to have a bit more self confidence. We want good cyclists like yourself to be prominent on our forums, to promote the sport and give inspiration to others!

iwanttoridebike, you're going to be greeted with some incredulity posting times like you have. That doesn't mean to say I don't believe you but if you're serious on competing and can do those times, then you're going to come across a few more hurdles than a bit of light ribbing on a forum. I think you're premature in leaving unless you really are trolling, in which case this would kinda prove it. I for one would be interested to hear how you get on with joining a club.

Not sure what the OP is asking by 'removing your profile' - if you want to leave then just don't come back and use your login again, if you mean something else then can you calrify, please?

I agree with Crackle on this. I can remember when I first joined, I was called "boring" and "sensitive", and a bit later on "Potty Hoop". but I now know that the people saying those things were not being nasty, but they were being friendly in what they thought was a funny amusing way.

If you join a club of any sort, cycling, or any type, I think you will get lots of helpful advice and also some joking, and some people will take the mickey. Unfortunately that is what happens.

Gaw blimey you should know whats happened to me on this forum!!!!

Unfortunately it is scarily like real life on here, some people take the piss, some are nice, some just try and wind you up, some do wind you up and occasionally you can have a laugh.

Like real life you have to have a slightly thick skin, and take most of it with a pinch of salt, most posts aren't really meant to be maliscious but sometimes they can appear this way.

just stay.

and if you intend to compete properly at any sport at decent level you need to get your head around not rising to the odd one liner, put down and mind game. If your mindset is to react badly to a jokey comment on a forum then anyone you compete against will have a field day.

Nothing particularly funny Joe, the OP just posted some rather good sounding 10 mile times, and a couple of people were suspicious...
