How do we improve the quality of debate on this site?

Just a casual glance at some of the subjects on this website reveals something less than ideal in respect of the manners and erudition of contributors. I'm not suggesting free and frank discussion should be quashed......but three word responses and expletives in the title don't really seem in the spirit of the great values of the wider Cycling family.

Does anyone have any idea as to how we might improve the quality of debate on this site?

You seem to have come along and seem awfully conservative and not open minded in your views. You seem to want to avoid conflict, let seem keen to light the touch paper yourself.

Go and spend a couple of days in the tedious pub brawl that is P and L. Wipe your feet when you come back in and you'll find that the rest of C+ isn't so bad after all.
C+!!

Pretty sad reaction to GC, isn't it? I've no idea what he's done to upset so many but the responses on this thread suggest, to me, that he's not far off the mark with his OP.
