With one of THESE, but they shouldn't be that tight off the bike really.

Thank you! Agree that they shouldn't be that tight though, I'm guessing that the dude I got them from was worried about losing bits.

Use the other park crank extractor without the handle. You use a big spanner for more leverage. Might be a struggle as its not in the frame, but shouldn't be done up tight as its not on the bike.

Cheers fossyant. Got the tool on order and I'll make a trip to B&Q for a spanner that I can do some damage with.

Wheels, chain and tape arriving next week. Hope to get the build finished soon! First proper one so I have my fingers crossed that I've not made a death machine!

Just be aware that if the last owner really did the gorilla bit on that crank it can do damage that means replacing parts.

I don't think he did. Chap seemed to know what he was doing and had a thing of beauty (Planet X carbon frame with red titanium bling dripping off it) in his garage which he'd built, so I reckon he knows his way around a bike.

I'd imagine that most of my problems stem from not actually knowing what I'm doing! I should go pro and get myself some mechanics.
