Hello all,

Can anyone tell me where I measure a quick release skewer from/to I need a new one for my lads mountain bike but am unsure as to the size.

Many thanks all

they are usually sold in pairs. Whatever you buy, it is highly unlikely that it will not fit...

Fronts are universal, rears can range to fit 126mm OLND to 135mm OLND (plus the width of the drop-outs which can vary between steel and loonyman frames). What this means is that any modern rear skewer will fit but if you have an older, narrower rear hub and/or skinny steel drop-outs you'll have a bit of thread showing. And if it does, simply hack it off with a hacksaw and tidy it with a file to reduce the likelyhood of it impaling anyone.

Many thanks mickle much appreciated It is the front one that I need so I shouldn't have a problem Although that said I will most likely buy a pair as it seems to be just as costly to buy one or 2.

Thanks again.
