How do I get the buckle out of my tyres?

I run Big Apples all round on my trike (20 inch wheel). They're great tyres and I'm very happy with them. However I always end up with a buckle in the tyre somewhere, clearly evident as I'm cycling along as the reflective edging to the tyre dips in as I'm going along. It gives me a noisier and rougher ride. If I deflate the tyre, fiddle about with it, reinflate it, the buckle is always still there!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to overcome this? We swapped the two front tyres round today and both have buckles in now, it's really noticeable on smooth roads!

Its almost nigh-on impossible to get a non-hooked tyre to run concentric on a plain rim.

I put about 10 psi in it and massage the tyre into a position that I am happy with.

I run Raleigh Records on a 20", and they take quite a bit of fiddling before I'm happy.

Thanks for all the comments folks.

This morning I set aside a few minutes to fix both front tyres.

Took the first one off, deflated it a bit, rolled it around on the road, re-inflated it a bit (no difference), let more air out, rubbed fairy liquid around the rim, manhandled it, pushed and pulled at it for about 15 minutes, inflating it and deflating it, gave up, reinflated it, went cycling.

It's better than it was but not perfect.

I couldn't face doing the left hand tyre today, will leave that for another day!

I half wondered about Marathon Pluses but concluded, after some discussion, I'd never be able to get them off on my own if I had a puncture.

I had got the impression that buckles in tyres are quite a common occurrence with these kevlar tyres though. Or was I mistaken?
