How can this be a 'ladies' bike, it's not pink, it has a 'crossbar' and it doesn't have a wicker basket at the front? Also it doesn't have a fully enclosed chain, how can I ride in my long cheesecloth dress? Ooh, I'm so upset I'll have to eat a Flake in the bath...
What are you referring to?

Women have proportionally longer legs than men.
The blurb on the web site seems to concentrate on the saddle. Can't think why?

Like with any bike, you still have to sit on it. My wife has a small ladies hybrid, but an XS mens MTB. Reach is also a factor. Doesn't always apply as some women fit better on a 'mens' bike, hence go sit on one.

When you look at male / female stats for people of the same height, there is next to no difference

There is more variance in body proportions within these grouping than across them.

Thankfully the days of “shrink it and pink it” are hopefully numbered and bike manufacturers will concentrate on the right bike for the individuals height and leg length. Other items like saddles are / may be significant but that is very much an individual choice.
