Hi,
Am looking to have a go at the Horseshoe pass nr Llangollen next weekend. Just really to do it and see what it's like.
Does anyone know of a good place to start from?
Don't want to start climbing straight away but also don't want a massively long ride as the family will a) dropping me off then meeting me at cafe at top,
and b) hoping for a day out round Llangollen or going to Plas Madog baths.

(also any other tips greatly appreciated)

Cheers
Steve

The Warf Tea room at the canal (up Wharf Hill) is very popular with the local cyclists. Gives you a bit of practice getting up there as well from the town centre.

Thanks for the replies...

Also is there an alternative (but again not too time consuming) way down as opposed to the main road?

Thanks

You can descend on the 'old Horseshoe', it starts from around the back of the Ponderosa cafe at the top. Very steep, but not much if any traffic.
