Feeling inspired by the Olympics? Up for a cycling challenge?
On Sunday 23rd September 2012, 100 cyclists will ride the 70 miles from Richmond Park in London to the Langstone Hotel onHayling Island, raising money to help transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
This beautiful route will take cyclists out of London through Richmond Park onto Esher and then Cobham. It will continue on to Guildford, and then pass through a wide variety of quaint towns and villages, perfect for a relaxing lunch stop before heading onto Hayling Island for a well-deserved celebratory finish!
The funds raised will be going to HOPEHIV, which helps 50,000 vulnerable children and young people in sub-Saharan Africa who have been orphaned or affected by HIV/AIDS.
A large part of the money raised will be used to buy bicycles and motorbikes for some of HOPEHIV’s projects. In areas where public transport is scarce, the roads are bad and the cost of owning a car is prohibitive for most, bikes provide a vital mode of transport for people fulfilling key roles within our projects and help them to reach many more vulnerable children and young people.
We are looking for cyclists to get behind HOPEHIV's vision by getting behind the handlebars!
