Holdsworth vintage road bike, information require please

Good afternoon guys,

I am new to the wonderful world of vintage Steel bikes and have just taken preposition of this Holdsworth road bike.

I would be very interested to find out as much as possible about the heritage of this bike.

That looks like a Claude Butler badge? Anyway, they were both owned by the same parent company.

PS If it is a Claude Butler then it was made after mid-1976 when they started using six digit frame numbers.

That was confusing! I had to look again as it has a Claud Butler head badge.
Holdsworth bought Claud Butler some years ago .
If you could post a picture of the whole bike up it might give us a better idea ?

Deffo a CB Badge, the Olympic Rings were in honour of medals won on CB bicycles...

Holdsworth Professional looks possible.

The Professionals usually have wrap-over rear stays as per Spiderweb’s photo, AFAIK, no other Holdsworths/CBS do.

Interesting, as it has Claud Butler fork crowns, and CB put the 531 decal at the top of the fork blade but Holdsworth did not.

I think its been chopped and changed. Claud Butler forks onto a Holdsworth frame, and that CB headbadge is a later addition as the pop rivets look wrong.

The frame is, I think, a Holdsworth as it doesn't have the style of Nervex lugs that were going onto Clauds of that era.

The forks I could understand if the originals were damaged, but the head badge seems odd to say the least.
