Spotted this in the latest CW. Gorgeous colour IMO, classic look.

Holdsworth Professional remake

Trouble is at 19lb its no lighter than my current 631 steelie. For £2500 you expect less (weight!) these days.

Why they built it in cro-mo and not 853 / 953 is beyond me. Maybe they just don't have the skills/tools?

Ohhhh me wanty, very badly indeed.
I have a 1950s Holdsworth in the garage in a very tired state, (but with much better lugwork), and the Holdsworth professional is my dream machine!

Question is, what are they trying to reproduce? The old bike or a modernised version?
Modern decent chromo is OK and probably rides closer to bikes of yore! Dunno what the weight of an original Holds pro was. Probably not too light by modern standars. Making it in 853 or 953 might be a future project but with quite price hike no doubt.
But it's well appointed and beatifully finished ... and I can't help desiring it

(proper rear dropouts too!).

Pure porn.

Nice to see the name back, and I hope they respect it. From the 1930s to the late 1980s Holdsworth were the very best of British. Not to mention running the TdF team and being the Campagnolo import franchise.

I'd love to own one, even if I'm not up to using it adequately any more.

Not to sure?
I've still got my old Holdsworth Professional 531c frame and forks hanging up in the loft.

Back then I only had one bike, fitted Salmon mudguards on it during the winter, then for the summer took the mudguards off and fitted lighter wheels for racing.......oh happy days.

Enjoy! 20lbs and IIRC they used to include pedals in weight.

Flinking blip! That's me old bike or as near as. Back in the day, when I though of myself as a full time mountain biker, lived and breathed it, out in the Pentlands south of Edinburgh maybe three times a week...I sold a flat, made a pile of dosh and on a whim bought a road bike. A Holdsworth Professional. Never looked back. Much as I loved the hills, there was something about a lightweight road bike and the open road that got to me. Still does. The bike was great, yet I sold it on another whim just to raise some cash. Regretted it instantly and still do. It's years ago now but I miss that bike. This is my only photo of it <sigh>

It's a nice looker all right, but it's only paint. The package is overpriced.
