Hi All

I was hit by a van on monday at a junction ( he just pulled out ) completely his fault police and ambulance agree, I fortunately am unharmed (well a few bruises) but my bike is not to healthy!! In order to get my bike fixed i assume it's down to his insurance but i don't know where to go from here any advice would be welcome.

Thanks in advance

Presumably you have this van drivers details or number plate. If you have his details contact him and ask for his insurance details he has a legal obligation to provide them to you in the event of an accident. If he refuses contact the police, explain the situation to them and ask them to obtain the details for you so that you can make a claim.

If you do not have any details of the van or its driver then contact the police and ask for a copy of their accident report or incident log of your accident.
Once you have this you can then make a claim through the motor insurance beareau which is a government organisation which is precisely for such circumstances.

You should be able to find all the details of the MIB online.

Contact driver for details then write to his insurer. If you are OK, then no big need for a solicitor. You'll need a repair quote from your bike shop (remember scratched parts are OK to be replaced for new).
