Just looking for advice on what to eat for a bit more energy during my rides.

Currently eat 4 slices of toast and jam beforehand. Then during a sandwich, fruit and 2 cereal bars.

This is for about 6-7 hours off roading 65miles approx. Do I need to be eating more or is this sufficient?

In the 'free from' section in supermarkets, there are a great range of bars called Nakd. You can also get them on the Internet. They are easily digested, so don't sit heavily on the stomach, when you're riding.

Porridge instead of all that toast?

Does it feel like a sufficient amount for you? We are all different

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Are Battenburg cakes dairy free?

I used them as a high energy source in PBP along with Stroopwaffels.

Thanks for all the ideas. Hate bacon so that's a no from me haha. Will try some porridge, I was never a fan of milk even before I developed an intolerance so I might try it made with water. Also that's for the snack ideas, will looks next time I go shopping!

Lactose intolerant myself. I use either squash or Asda Isotonic for liquid & Nakd bars for food during the ride. I've ised the High 5 gels in the past without issue, but I'd advise trying different things yourself as you'll know what effects you better than others.
