Hi all, I've cleared out my garage, found an old Falcon olympic Ernie Clement bike in there. I was going to take it to the dump, my partner thinks it's worth something. The big question is, is it???? Can anyone help with this??
Many thanks, Lou

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Rather than dump it there's probably a bike recycling place near you.

It'll have a value, although a 1970's Falcon won't be that much. If you're selling, try eBay or an advert on here.

There's no rust on the chain, it has decent equipment and the paintwork looks to be in good condition. See if the tyres are still ok, if so pump them up, give it a clean, take new photos and I'm sure it will sell. Oh yes, measure the size and include that in your advert too (centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the frame's seat tube). Also indicate roughly where you are, as the buyer will have to pick it up.

The original Titlist rear mech and Maxy chainset have some value in their own right

That's a decent quality bike, not top notch, but made with Reynolds 531 plain gauge tubes. I can't remember whether it was just the main tubes or also the forks and stays. There's a decal near the top of the seat tube which should tell you; probably something like this.
Worth £50 of anybody's money - or £500 if you mention Eroica in the description.^_^
