Hi guys,

Richard from Crawford, 44 and about to get back on the saddle after a lengthy hiatus. My Verenti Insight should arrive on Monday, so weather permitting I'll be out discovering just how unfit I've become.

Richard.

Nor had I until I started researching, I had my heart set on a Colnago but for the money the Verenti made more sense.

:welcome: from Rutherglen, Richard: you might see me about whizzing at 5mph on a bike that looks nothing like yours

Pat, are you going to the whitelee wind farm cycle?
Richard you might be interested too google Meet ups Easy Walkers and Cyclists it's not until end of Sept, plenty of time to get some practice before, and some of us don't go fast anyway.

Is that ride with the group you mention?
I have not joined them - yet.
I have cycled (well, mostly walked it) up the windmills on my own once. Got lost in East Kilbride - nothing unusual for me ^_^ ended up doing 38 miles instead of the 20 it should have been from Rutherglen.
I think without a road bike the hill from Eaglesham to the beginning of the moor is nigh to impossible!

No way I can cycle from home, was going to take the car up, I can come by Rutherglen and get you.

So what is your group going to cycle? Just up from Eaglesham to the wind farm? That's the hardest bit, and the less panoramic too.
Will consider it maybe a bit nearer the time: September is a very busy month for work.

Not sure, just a route around the windfarm I think. I will keep you posted.

ooooo, nice bike, you won't want to join us slow people with that! I'll no doubt see you somewhere on the A702/B7078, only I'll be in the car, not passing you.
