Hello,
I am normally into classic and vintage cars but a year or so ago I bought an old boys bike from the local tip and re-sprayed it but left it at that, not getting around to re-assembling it. That is until my boy was out my workshop with me last weekend and prompted me to finish it off.
As a result I have now become totally wrapped up in finding out as much as I can about it.
I was wondering if anybody on here could help me pinpoint it's age.
It is Raleigh with 18" from seat post to bottom of the bottom bracket.
24" wheels (1593mm bead rim diameter)
It has rod brakes on Westwood rims
As far as I can see Raleigh only did an 18" frame with rod brakes in the 1930's. However, looking at the serial number on the seat post 102535T that would date it as 1950's but that doesn't seem to match up with the frame size and Westwood wheels.
There is also a number 67358 stamped below the bottom bracket, although the 3 is a bit iffy.
Can anybody shed any light on what it might be?
Cheers
Phil.
