Hi to all.
My first post.
I have been cycling for little while now, pleasure and commuting. Am looking to join a club for the first time. I live in Huntingdon, Cambs. Does anybody know anything about St Ives cycling club? Or any other good clubs nearby?
I also want to buy a road bike. Have a Marin MTB at the moment, with Tri-bars, eek! (+2mph ave speed with the bars ).
I really like the look of the 2009 Trek 1.9 compact. I think I may have missed the boat though. I have searched around the web and I can't find any left in the 58cm size. Does anyone know or have seen one hiding in the darkest corner of a bike shop or the web? Am prepared to travel for it.
I've just purchased a turbo trainer, (CycleOps Fluid) from wiggle. I always thought that training in the house would be a bit boring, but it has been a real godsend in this weather. Have strapped the Marin into it and I just change the gears to alter the resistance, lovely!
At the minute planning/training for a cycle trek in the summer from south coast of France (Montpelier) to north coast (Calais). 781 miles in 12 days.
Anyway, sorry about the rambling. I've just realised that this probably doesn't belong in 'Beginners' too, oops, apologies for that.
