I read with frustration the never ending list of folks having their sheds turned over and their long cherished bikes stolen.

Has anyone tried them? I had quite stunning results 20 years ago and nobody has tried to break in any of my buildings since! A 12 bore blank going off a foot from your ear has that effect. I can thoroughly recommend these, they are chaep and can be bought direct or from your local shooting shop.

I've no need to buy one, yours was that effective that no one has tried to break into my shed either, word has certainly got round, really has scared the scumbags off.

I think not, perhaps your just lucky, like me, that none of the thieving scrotes have ever tried breaking in since. For every scrote scared off, there's always another to take his place.

I have a personal alarm attached to the inside door of my shed...and it is dark down there. I also have 2 locks on the door and no windows. The bikes are attached to the floor anchors with steel wire strops that are 2m long and go through the frames and wheels. My recumbent has a GPS tracker fitted to it.

I live in Denmark where the crime rate is about zilch and I live way out in the countryside. Before they get to the shed I have oudoor lights which light up a bit like Boothferry Park when a fox or cat goes by at night and causes no end of complaints from neighbours 400m away.

Being an ex police officer makes you a bit paranoid.
