Go and ask on Singletrackworld, lots have done this.

My comment: very hard route technically with a lot of pushing. A better Lakes route is the classic Brother's Water to Hayeswater then push to High Street summit then the beacon at Thornethwaite Crag then back in a NE direction almost as far as Pooley Bridge, turning back SW and following the eastern shore of Ullswater back to Brother's water. A cracking 26 miles with 5940 feet of ascent and a stonking ride along the Roman road on High Street. PM me if you want me to send map, route profile and pictures.

You omitted to mention the big carry up onto High St. The Ullswater shore is also very technical at the southern end. But both classic rides. Agree about the other route. Its very technical riding and quite a bit of carrying.

Well did helvellyn Saturday must say you have to be a good rider
To climb even 80% of it or have wings.!!!
Had the bike on my back at one point ( the last climb to the top)
With the snow that's still on the tops not helping and the wind must of been about 70-80 mph
but coming down dolly wagon pike rode 95% down to grisedale tarn very technical
and one of my mate going over the bars twice but still had a smile on his face it was fun then riding down to
The car 100% rideable nice technical down hill lots of fun
