The marking on the sidewall of my Marathons is: "622-37, 28x1.40, 700x35C" I wouldn't get too preoccupied with width though, the tolerances are large enough to take a 35mm tyre from 32mm to 38mm: I hadn't noticed just how large the tolerances are until I saw the difference in these two 35mm tyres:
